The Department of Biology at IISER Tirupati brings together researchers working across scales, from molecules to ecosystems, united by a shared commitment to rigorous, curiosity-driven enquiry. Our faculty pursue questions spanning disease mechanisms, developmental processes, plant biology, ecological and evolutionary dynamics, computational and data-driven approaches, and the biochemical and biophysical foundations of life. This diversity of approach is deliberate: many of the most consequential biological questions do not respect disciplinary boundaries, and our department is structured to encourage collaboration across these six research divisions.
